I would like you to meet Seamus. He is my four year old rescue dog. As a dog owner, I recognize the joy a dog can bring to many. However, not all children (or adults) are comfortable around dogs, particularly if they are not well supervised. According to the Animal Control Department, dogs are not allowed on any Gloucester public land off leash. In addition, leashed dogs (maximum of a 6 foot leash) can be on school grounds without any issues under direct supervision of an adult. However, a dog who displays any signs of aggression (barking at other dogs or children) or needs to be restrained by their owner are considered trespassing and will be asked to leave the premises or animal control will be called. In addition, I ask that all dog owners clean up after their dog on school property.
On Friday, Loren Doucette visited East Gloucester to introduce an All School Art project that will be completed in May. Students and staff will be creating fish to be part of the whole school of fish. Students learned about the color wheel, color mixing, and color values. The All School Art project is sponsored by the EGS PTO and will be on display in June.
