EGS will begin our school-wide read this month. Have you ever heard of a Whangdoodle? If you go to EGS, you will... We will begin this great adventure together because our EGS community believes becoming a reader and reading together generates a lifelong love of reading. We will build a common experience, learn new vocabulary and have some fun. That's what learning to read is all about. Let's get ready for our quest of finding the last of the really great Whangdoodles...
The forecast is predicting a string of cold days. Please remember to bundle up your children with appropriate hats and gloves. When the weather gets over 20 degrees (feels like temperature), we will be going outside. Until then, we will be having indoor recess to ensure student safety.
I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing winter break and are ready to get back to the routine of school. I also want to welcome you to the new online EGS News. This page will be updated regularly and will have updates and news from the EGS community.

When thinking about mid-year data meetings...
When thinking about mid-year data meetings it is important to remember that we are all growing and working to improve. The teachers at EGS have been taking a close look at the Growth Mindset and will be discussing the difference between a growth mindset and a fixed mindset. If you are interested in learning a little bit more about it, take a look at this TED Talk by Carol Dweck.
